Around Alki

The great thing about Alki is that almost every home is either on the water, has a view of the water, or is within walking distance to the water. Roads are well paved and neighborhoods are lined with sidewalks. The most expensive homes are located at Alki Point. However, most reasonable single-family homes can be found along SW Admiral Way.

Along Alki Avenue SW, you’ll find a variety of restaurants. Locals rave about the J&J Public House, a gastropub with a laid-back, beachfront casual setting. The neighborhood is also home to highly rated restaurants like Il Nido as well as other local favorites like Duke’s Seafood, El Chupacabra, and West Seattle Brewing Company.

Alki is home to a beachfront, parks, and well-maintained streets. The Statue of Liberty Plaza near Luna Park features a replica of the lady overlooking the sound. Here, you’ll see beachfront condos and volleyball tournaments. Finding baby seals along the shoreline at Alki Beach Park isn’t an uncommon sight either.

Some of the best nightlife options can be found along Alki Avenue SW where you’ll find popular spots like Alki Beach Pub & Eatery, West Seattle Brewing Co., and a variety of local eateries and cocktail lounges. Each place offers a welcoming and social environment where you can grab a few drinks and bites to eat.

Spend the day visiting the Log House Museum, which was built in the 190ss and features exhibits about the local area. Then stop by the Alki Point Lighthouse where you can enjoy a free tour during the weekends in the summer months. For more outdoor recreation, you can also spend the day at Alki Beach playing volleyball, sunbathing, swimming, or grabbing a bite at one of the nearby eateries.

Alki is mostly a car-dependent neighborhood so completing errands on foot isn’t common. However, Seattle Metro does offer service in the neighborhood picking up passengers on a regular schedule along Alki Avenue SE, 61st Avenue SW, Harbor Avenue SW, and SW Admiral Way.
