Around Arbor Heights

Homes in the southern part of Arbor Heights are close to Seola Park, Arroyos Natural Area, and the Arbor Heights Swim and Tennis Club. This area features plenty of outdoor space such as wooded hiking trails and recreational centers that offer water polo, swimming, diving, and tennis programs. However, residents wanting more action might prefer living in the northern part of the neighborhood near SW Roxbury Street where most of the restaurants and shops can be found.

Arbor Heights is known to be a more suburban neighborhood, which means residents have to travel outside of the community to dine out. Surrounding neighborhoods like Roxhill, Fauntleroy, and Highland Park. Locals rave about a spot called the Kicked Down Café that, believe it or not, runs its business by donations and offers free coffee and pastries. A number of food trucks also set up shop just outside of the neighborhood near SW Roxbury Street, which are popular among locals.

On the west side of Arbor Heights, you’ll enjoy some of the best views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. The south end features two great woodland parks to explore and the rest of the neighborhood consists of single-family homes situated within a quiet suburban environment.

Located just outside of the Arbor Heights neighborhood is the Roxbury Lanes and Casino, which offers a good time for all ages. Open late every night, it offers bowling, an arcade, a restaurant, a sports bar, and a casino. For a somewhat quieter evening, check out The Missing Piece Café & Game Lounge on 35th Avenue SE where you can play your favorite game with friends and maybe buy one to take home.

Hop on a bike and ride down Marine View Drive SW or enjoy a hike along the wooded trails through Seola Park. If relaxation is what you’re looking for then pamper yourself with a massage or enjoy a mani/pedi at one of the shops on 35th Avenue SW.

The public transportation options in Arbor Heights are limited and most locals rely on their own cars for transportation. Seattle Metro buses do frequent the area making regular stops up and down 35th Avenue SW, Marine View Drive SE, SW 110th Street, SW 106th Street, and SW 100th Street.
