Around Blandtown
Several homeowners here feel like they stumbled upon the best-kept secret. You will find a few streets still embodying the industrial feel of the community, but several streets also have unique modern builds. There are gated communities, row houses, and condos to choose from as well.
Establishments like TopGolf have brought additional attention to the community of Blandtown, and home prices have risen as a result. The cat may be out of the bag, and many homeowners are glad to have bought in when they did. Development is not finished, however, so current and future residents might still see their homes increase in value.
Bone Garden Cantina, Twisted Soul Cookhouse, and Bacchanalia are just a few hot spots to eat at in the neighborhood. For dessert, be sure to visit Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. There are a select few coffee shops and restaurants to choose from in the immediate area, but locals rave over the food trucks that converge at the Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market on Howell Mill Road.
This area is known for its furnishing stores and top-notch boutiques. You will notice new residential and commercial developments springing up in Blandtown. These new developments are still fairly spread out by large expanses of industrial zones and empty lots, but builders are beginning to fill in the gaps.
Blandtown’s nightlife options have really expanded in recent years, and one major addition is Topgolf. This multi-level entertainment venue features over 100 climate-controlled hitting bays, restaurants and bars, a rooftop terrace with a fire pit, and more. If you’d prefer a low-key night at a pub, pay a visit to The Whelan, an old-school tavern with pool tables, tasty bar food, and a friendly clientele.
Enjoy art? Head on over to The Goat Farm, an arts center housed in a 19th-century factory that hosts art exhibits, performances, and yes, goats. If ballet is your thing, check out the Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre. Locals also enjoy shopping at the Westside Market, design studios, and wholesale stores.
The extension of the MARTA train service has not yet come to this area, but residents can travel by MARTA bus, taxi, Lyft, or Uber ride service. This is area isn’t terribly walkable, so many get around by car or bike.
