5 Great Soccer Pubs in Las Vegas
The 2018 World Cup is quickly approaching. This year’s tournament will take place in Russia from June 14 to July 15. While 32 teams will compete for the coveted title of FIFA World Cup winner, the USA will not be among them. Still, if you’re a soccer fan (or football, as it were), you’re still probably fired up to watch some footie on big screens. Or perhaps you’re in town on vacation and want to know where you can take a break from gambling to check out all the goal-scoring. Here’s a list of the best soccer pubs in Las Vegas where you’ll be able to do that.
Crown and Anchor British Pub - Paradise
Ask any local for the best spot to watch the World Cup, and there’s a good chance they’ll mention Crown and Anchor. This authentic British pub is the perfect spot to watch sports, grab a pint, or just hang out. They’re also a U.S. Soccer Federation sponsor so the love for the sport at this place is real.
Crown and Anchor is in the Paradise neighborhood, close to UNLV. Although they cater to all ages, it’s definitely a hangout for college students and millennials. On Tuesdays, UNLV students even get their first beer for free.
There’s also another Crown and Anchor in the Spring Valley neighborhood in case this one gets too crowded on game day.
Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas - Paradise
German beerhouse Hofbrauhaus in Paradise is famous for its food, drinks, and raucous atmosphere. Their Bavarian menu includes items like potato pancakes, Bavarian liver mousse, and cheese and schnitzel. While there, you can enjoy your meal and take a shot out of a Shot-Ski or have a shot with a spanking on the side. Yes, a spanking.
They hold special events around major soccer matches, and it’s a really good idea to make a reservation because space is limited.
They also have live bands, musical chairs, beer pong, and cornhole.
McMullan’s Irish Pub - Spring Valley
Not only is McMullan’s one of the best bars in the city, it’s another ideal place to watch the World Cup. This Irish pub is wildly popular with both locals and tourists, and you’ll probably find it packed during significant sporting events. This bar is located across the street from the Orleans Hotel and Casino which makes it a perfect location if you want a great local place off The Strip.
Even if you don’t want to watch sports, McMullan’s is a great place to listen to live music, play trivia, or eat. So great, in fact, that they just tied for the Old Speckled Hen award of “2018 Best Fish and Chips in the U.S.”.
Rí Rá Irish Pub - The Strip
If you’re looking for a place on The Strip to watch the World Cup, consider Rí Rá inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. This rowdy bar is always packed, and the energy inside is great for any sporting event.
In this popular Irish spot, the atmosphere feels authentic because it is. RíRá is constructed from a pub that was restored in Ireland and shipped to Vegas, custom-made with salvaged material. They feature an EPL Breakfast Club and have all the big matches on the TVs already, so you know it’s going to be a scene for the World Cup.
Four Kegs Sports Pub - North Las Vegas
Four Kegs in North Las Vegas is a classic neighborhood bar with good food and cheap drinks. Food Network viewers got a peek inside the bar when it was featured on “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” with Guy Fieri as well as “Guy’s Big Project”.
This low-key bar sponsors local soccer teams and is a great place to watch the game (not to mention many other sports). Hopefully, the games coincide with their happy hour specials, which are $2 beers, $3 wells, $4 Jameson drinks, and $5 appetizers between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m.
