68 Condominium Townhomes Proposed Near Crenshaw Boulevard
Ever since the Metro Rail’s opening of its new Expo Line stations in South LA, developers have been flocking to build new housing in the area.
A new collection of townhouse-style condos may soon replace a dairy product facility owned by grocery wholesale company Unified Grocers, Inc. For years, the approximately 1.5-acre property, located at 3101 W. Exposition Blvd., has been a fixture in Crenshaw and Jefferson Park before the company was bought out by retailer Supervalu.
Documents were filed with the Los Angeles City of Department Planning requesting permit approval for the proposed project in the Crenshaw Corridor Specific Plan area. Although details included in the report were minimal, plans call for the construction of 68 new townhomes.
According to Urbanize, another nearby Unified Grocers property in Florence is set to become condominium housing as well. Both of the slated development sites are located conveniently near the Metro Rail’s Crenshaw Boulevard rail station and Expo Line.
