Amphi Neighborhood Park in Tucson Closes Temporarily for Facelift
The Amphi Neighborhood Park in North Tucson is getting a much-needed facelift and is currently closed until the big reveal, KVOA News is reporting.
Partnering with the Amphi Neighborhood Association, Sacred Heart Church, and the St. Francis Shelter, Tucson Parks and Recreation has big plans for the treasured neighborhood park near Amphitheater Middle School that’s set to reopen at the end of October.
Projects in place include resurfacing the basketball court, new concrete tables for the shaded ramada, irrigation improvements, and improvements to the already existing soccer field, per the city’s website.
The park also has a memorial for local neighborhood advocate, Rick Wicinski, a former President of the Amphi Neighborhood Association who chartered many neighborhood beautification projects.
