Developers are planning to build a new 150,000-square-foot building at Waterford at Blue Lagoon, which will serve as Burger King Corp.’s new headquarters, per Miami Today.

Burger King will be the sole tenant of the new building at 5707 Blue Lagoon Drive, which is expected to be completed by October 2108. Waterford at Blue Lagoon is owned by a joint venture between TH Real Estate, a real estate investment management affiliate of TIAA, and Allianz Real Estate of America.

This will be the second new office building to open at Waterford at Blue Lagoon in recent times. 800 Waterford, a new 10-story, class A office building with 246,000 square feet, opened in July. It was 25 percent-leased when it opened. The complex is home to over 100 multinational companies, many of which have regional or Latin American headquarters there.

The new buildings are aimed at meeting the growing demand for office space in the Miami Airport area. Even with the construction of the new buildings, Waterford still has 38.13 vacant acres of land, which has the potential to house more than 1.5 million square feet of office space. Waterford representatives have said it will develop new buildings as market conditions dictate.
