CTA Eyes Spot in Logan Square for New Development
The CTA owns land in Logan Square, and the agency is seeking proposals from developers for a new transit-oriented development (TOD), according to DNAinfo.
The site in question is 2525 N. Kedzie Blvd. Right now, the 43,154-square-foot site is home to a building that houses City Lit Books and First Midwest Bank, according to the report. The site is 600 feet away from the entrance to the Logan Square Blue line. Years ago, the building was actually an entrance to the Blue Line station.
The CTA expects the TOD to be a mixed-use project with residential and retail elements, DNAinfo reports. The CTA is accepting developers’ proposals through Nov. 18.
The building’s two current tenants have leases that run through to March 31, 2018, according to the report. The CTA is expected to approve a TOD plan by early next year.
