Developers to Transform Two Pilsen Warehouses Into Mural Park, Mixed-Use Space
Two Pilsen warehouses, located at 1901 S. Sangamon St. and 1911 S. Sangamon St., are soon to become the neighborhood’s new Mural Park, according to Curbed Chicago. The project, headed by developers Condor Partners and architecture firm JGMA, will also repurpose the warehouses for office space and retail use.
Mural Park will feature gardens and local artwork in an open-air plaza. The outdoor space will be complemented by amenities such as a cafe, bike storage, and a rooftop deck, according to the report. Eventually, the park will connect to The Paseo. The Paseo is a new bicycle and pedestrian path that will connect Pilsen to University Village.
As for the interior of the warehouses, the developers plan to add 200,000 square feet of office space.
