D.R. Horton, Meritage Led Way on Phoenix Region Homebuilding in 2016
The Phoenix Business Journal has released a new list of the largest homebuilders in the Phoenix-area based on the number of units started in 2016.
D.R. Horton Developments
Topping the list is D.R. Horton with 1,545 housing starts. Having sold 949 units in the same year, the builder is responsible for developments like: Copper Cove Estates in Copper Cove, Glendale, Riverview Village of Mesa, and Via Sorento in Gilbert. The builder offers plans ranging from 1,092 to 3,250 square feet.
Meritage Homes Developments
Meritage Homes Corp. ranked second with 1,276 homes started in 2016 and 957 units sold. Popular developments include Almeria at Sedella in Goodyear, Velvendo in Gilbert, and Sienna Hills of Buckeye. Plans range between 1,161 to 5,704 square feet.
Taylor Morrison Developments
Taylor Morrison ranked third with 1,148 units started and 1,173 sold for the builder of Adora Trails, Northlands in Peoria, and Treo of Scottsdale. Plans can be found between 1,637 and 4,576 square feet.
CalAtlantic Homes Developments
CalAtlantic Homes takes a close fourth spot with 1,124 houses started and 1,013 homes sold. Developments like Charleston Estates of Queen Creek, Sentiero, and Whisper Ridge show off the builder’s style. Plans range between 1,361 and 5,141 square feet.
PulteGroup Developments
Rounding off the fifth spot is PulteGroup with 1,058 homes started and 1,086 homes sold. Buyers can find options at Circle Cross Ranch in San Tan Valley, Tierra del Sol in Florence, and Sun City Festival with plans ranging between 1,398 and 4,368 square feet.
