Earlier this year, Oakland resident Myles Fenwick started posting beautiful drone videos high above The Town. His videos peeked down at the scenes around Jack London Square, West Oakland, and the Lake Merritt region, to name a few.

As he told SFGate.com, "you just get a whole new perspective on everything around you. You can see things that you would never know are there."

Recently, Fenwick posted a new video that showcases some of the coolest murals around the city. All three street art works are located in Uptown Oakland and help provide a sense of what’s inspiring locals and the stories they want to tell. 

The drone begins by soaring closer and closer to “United Nations” by Zio Ziegler, located at 17th and Telegraph. The six-story work honors 70 years of the United Nations.

From there we cruise across the street to 17th and Broadway to see “Vintage,” in 2016. It depicts an older woman listening to music and looking at a record album titled "Steel & Fire: A Decade of Thrash Metal". BiP recently created a new piece of public art in Bernal Heights as well.

Finally, we fly away from that corner and end up at 19th and Webster where the epic “Rise & Grind” mural awaits. Created by Illuminaries in 2014, it depicts a battle-ready version of Oakland A’s mascot Stomper with “Oakland Proud” spelled out underneath.
