Last week, Zillow crunched the numbers and figured out that Cypress Park would be the hottest neighborhood in Los Angeles in 2017. Meanwhile, Redfin just did some number-crunching of their own to determine the hottest neighborhoods of 2017 and not only does Cypress Park not make the cut but neither does any neighborhood actually in Los Angeles.

Per Redfin, the Glendale neighborhood of Somerset will be the hottest in the region as well as the third-hottest across the entire nation. Considered by some to be a hidden gem (not anymore), this half-square mile neighborhood is full of pre-war single-family homes and apartment complexes. Currently, we see properties for sale ranging from a 708-square-foot one-bedroom asking $347K to a $899K six-bedroom duplex that's primed for renovations or teardown.

Redfin also calls out Morrison Ranch in Agoura Hills, with it's collection of Spanish-style single-family homes, and Long Beach's Zaferia as the other hot neighborhoods to keep an eye on in the region. With a median sale price of $350,000, Zaferia might be a good spot to look at for affordable housing in the region in a neighborhood that's going to be getting more attention in the year to come.
