Opened in 1985, PGA West is a 2,000-acre community in La Quinta, CA based around the golfing lifestyle. However, a growing residential base and club membership is requiring them to expand their offerings and they’ve just announced plans to build a new, four-acre sports club.

Set to begin construction in May and open in 2018, the state-of-the-art facility will be chock full of athletic opportunities, including a fitness center, 22-hole putting course, 25-yard lap pool, and sport courts for bocce ball, Petanque, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball. Other features include a dog park, restaurant, bar with fire pit, and a “golf cart drive-in” movie area.

These new amenities will join the 109 holes of golf spread across six courses designed by legends like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Greg Norman. There are also three clubhouses, a private fitness facility, and multiple sport courts. PGA West also features multiple new home communities as well as resale and vacation rental opportunities which continue to grow, necessitating the need for more amenities.
