Goodyear Geared Towards Growth With Multiple New Housing Developments
Goodyear, the third-fastest growing city in Arizona and seventh-fastest growing city in the U.S., continues to flourish with plans for residential and economic expansion. The city with the slogan ‘Goodyear is Geared for Growth,’ boasts abundant land for development and businesses in addition to incentives like tax-saving programs ‘Military Reuse and Redevelopment Zones.’ Goodyear is also known for its high quality of life thanks to their school systems, healthcare, major league sports venues, and master-planned communities that offer a wide range of amenities.
Appealing to the millennial and downsizing condo crowd, ABC 15 reported on a new complex with 80 residential units, commercial, retail, office space, and restaurants will soon rise near Goodyear Ballpark. Breaking ground in the next few months, residents will have “front row seats” to the ballpark, Downtown Phoenix, and the Estrella mountains in this 150-foot tower.
Those looking for additional square footage and traditional backyards will appreciate the recent news from Maracay Homes, who is opening two new Rio Paseo communities: Villages and Cottages, per Builder Online.
The Villages will feature 117 condominium homes in the 1,335 to 1,497 square-foot range with three distinct two-story floor plans. Designed for a low-maintenance lifestyle, the homes are priced in the low $200s. Residents will also have access to private amenities including a pool, fitness center, and playground.
The other neighborhood, Cottages, will host 93 single-family detached homes ranging from 1,674 to 1,929 square feet. Despite including great rooms, transitional outdoor living spaces, and walk-in kitchen pantries, homes will remain priced below FHA loan limits. Homes in both neighborhoods will be registered with the U.S. Green Building Council. The aim is that homes will receive LEED certification and meet the EPA’s Indoor airPLUS specifications.
Goodyear has made strides in recent years to become one of the top cities to live in the U.S. That mission has been helped along thanks to its strategic placement near airports, freeways, and rail transit. Throw in big-name corporation campuses like Lockheed Martin and the Airline Training Center of Arizona, and you have all the makings for city that is expected to double in population over the next 20 years.
