WalletHub recently named Las Vegas as the seventh best place to take a staycation out of 182 U.S. cities, which included 150 of the most populated cities. Based on recreation, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation, WalletHub evaluated each city using 40 metrics in each category, which revealed that Las Vegas took second place for best food and entertainment. North Las Vegas and Henderson ranked 37 and 56 on the list respectively.

Both Las Vegas and its northern counterpart have the most zoos and aquariums and the most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops per capita. The Valley also has no shortage of great shave ice, rolled ice cream, and margaritas to go around,   which is why it’s no surprise that Las Vegas is a phenomenal place for residents to feel like they’re going out of town without actually leaving the city limits. Here are four Las Vegas neighborhoods where you should take your next staycation.

Lake Las Vegas

With two major hotels, a mini Italian village, and loads of activities all in one place, Lake Las Vegas is hard to beat when it comes to a resort-like staycation. Whether you’d prefer to stay at the Westin or the Hilton, both hotels have highly rated spas as well as a golf club. The lake also offers a range of water activities such as jetpack experiences, paddleboards, boat rentals, and yacht reservations along with a number of dining options, like the popular Mimi and Coco Bistro that provide guests with scenic views of the water. After dinner, grab gelato from BellaLinda Gelateria, one of the best gelato shops in town. The resort also hosts regular social events throughout the year like movies on the lawn and neon paddleboarding at night.

Henderson has the second most spas per capita and is ranked as the 18th highest in rest and relaxation. That’s why Green Valley Ranch is another great staycation option, where you can get a spa treatment on the same day that you hit the slots and enjoy restaurants. During the day, shop at one of the many boutiques in The District or grab a meal at Bottiglia or Bella Vita for authentic Italian food. WInd down with a relaxing swim in the pool at Green Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino.

Summerlin

In Summerlin, it’s quite possible to have either an outdoorsy or resort-style vacation. If you’re the type who loves to go camping, Red Rock Canyon may be the best option. Otherwise, Red Rock Resort has it all, from luxurious spas to casino slot machines. And with Downtown Summerlin right in front, there’s no shortage of dining, shopping, and entertainment options to choose from. Since Las Vegas has the fifth most coffee and tea shops per capita, it only makes sense to recommend Sambalatte at Boca Park, famous for their rainbow lattes that can be found in both Summerlin and Centennial Hills locations.

This North Las Vegas neighborhood is also a great staycation spot. North Las Vegas has the most spas per capita, and both Centennial Hills Salon and Day Spa and Look Style Society in Tivoli Village are highly rated spas and salons. While you’re at Tivoli Village, visit the five-story Restoration Hardware gallery and dine at Brio Tuscan Grille. End the day at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino, if you’re feeling lucky. If you’re looking for more outdoorsy activities, Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary and Springs Preserve are great family-friendly options as well.
