A developer is planning to submit a proposal for a hotel in Logan Square. The hotel would replace the Grace’s Furniture building located at 2618 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to a DNAinfo report

The building, which overlooks central Logan Square and is next to an L stop on the Blue Line, seems like it is ripe for redevelopment, but it has been at the center of a legal dispute for several years. Visualcast owns billboards displayed on the sides of the building, but the City of Chicago banned those billboards in 2013, according to the report. Visualcast has been fighting the decision in court since then.

Now, Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35th Ward) announced that plans to put a hotel on this site are actually in the works. DNAinfo reports that a developer plans to submit a full proposal including renderings.

“Once that proposal is finalized and it's in a place where it'll be appropriate to bring it to the community, we will do just that," said Ald. Ramirez-Rosa, according to the report.

It remains unclear how this developer will handle the dispute with Visualcast.
