Iconic Randy's Donuts Coming to El Segundo
Randy’s Donuts in Inglewood has been a longtime cultural landmark in Los Angeles, best known for its giant rooftop doughnut and 24-hour freshly handmade fried treats. For decades, the delectable and readily available doughnuts were only available for those nearby the city’s Southeast side. However, after former lawyer Mark Kelegian purchased the $2 million property two years ago, he promised to expand the iconic eatery to several neighborhoods throughout Southern California.
According to the Daily Breeze, Kelegian is following through with his promise, bringing a Randy’s Donuts to El Segundo next year. In an announcement from the Apollo Landing development project, South Bay’s newest hip dining destination, Randy’s Donuts has been named the outlet’s final tenant and it will join other popular shops including Shake Shack, Philz Coffee, Tender Greens, Pier 76 Fish Grill, and Calo Kitchen + Tequila.
The new El Segundo location on Rosecrans Avenue will be the doughnut shop’s second standalone location with fresh donuts made daily on-site. However, unlike its Inglewood restaurant, it won’t be open around the clock. Kelegian also plans on installing another giant donut sculpture on the shop’s rooftop, though it won’t be as large as its flagship location.
Earlier this year, Randy’s Donuts also added its retail kiosk to Westfield Mall in Century City. However, the shop’s doughnuts are baked off-site from the Inglewood eatery.
The new location is expected to open sometime summer 2018.
