Last year, Lesso America Inc. purchased more than 76 acres along the U.S. 380 corridor in Frisco for a new mall development site, according to the Dallas Business Journal.

Though Victor Lin, president of Lesso America, didn’t respond to the Dallas Business Journal’s request for an interview, real estate sources told the publication that the company plans to build a multi-level retail center on the site that will be a conceptual mix of a Home Depot and Ikea under one roof.

If it eventually happens, it would be one of the first Lesso Mall developments in the United States.Between Collin County’s track record for attracting global players, Frisco’s exploding growth, and the Dallas-Fort Worth building boom, Frisco is a prime launch site for Lesso’s retail business model in the U.S.

“There’s no doubt there’s a growing population in this part of the region that could handle a store like this,” Ken Reimer, partner and co-founder of Dallas-based Venture Commercial, told the Dallas Business Journal.

While Reimer was unaware of Lesso’s plans, he said with so few retail competitors along the growing U.S. 380 corridor, he could see why a retail company like Lesso would be attracted to the site.
