Lincoln Park's Historic Wrigley Mansion Gets a Price Cut
Located at 2466 North Lakeview Ave. with views of Lincoln Park, the historic “Wrigley Mansion” is back on the market with a smaller price tag, according to ABC News. The property was previously listed for $7.15 million and was under contract to sell. It was recently relisted by Parkvue Realty for $5.5 million.
The nine-bedroom home is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places and is a Chicago landmark, having been built in 1896 by architect Richard Schmidt. In 1911, the property was purchased by the Wrigley family.
The property includes a 13,000-square-foot main house and a 2,000-square-foot coach house. According to the home’s website, the structure is steel and concrete with baroque terra cotta tile and a patinated copper roof.
The home has 6.3 bathrooms, a wine bar, walk-in vault, butler’s pantry, game rooms, staff quarters, and a mahogany paneled library. The interior is well-preserved and features marble fireplaces and fixtures, mosaic tile, ornate hardware, and gold and silver leaf coffered ceilings.
The coach house features three stories with enough space for storage, parking, and it has two residential units.
At the start of the year, the Chicago Tribune reported the home to be on the market for $7.15 million. Previous to it going to the market, attorney Ted Tetzlaff purchased the place for $9 million in 2004. The home was subject to foreclosure and Tetzlaff lost the property to his lender in June 2016.
