The Lincoln Yards development, being built at the former Finkl Steel site in Lincoln Park, has generated a lot of buzz as a proposed site for Amazon’s HQ2 headquarters. The Sterling Bay development has made headlines again as a potential home for a new soccer stadium, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

The new stadium would feature 20,000 seats and a retractable roof, according to the report. A United Soccer League club, which has yet to be named, could play games at the brand new venue. The stadium could also be used for concerts and other entertainment.

While Sterling Bay is hopeful that Lincoln Yards will also land Amazon’s headquarters, the developer intends to build the stadium regardless of the e-commerce company’s decision, according to the report.

Sterling Bay will need zoning approval to build the stadium. Pending that approval, the stadium could be finished by 2020, according to the report.
