Major Developments That Will Change Miami
Miami is a premier international destination with visitors and residents coming from all over the world. High-rises climb to the sky in the many neighborhoods of the Magic City. Cutting-edge expansion continues unabated, but at a reasonable pace when compared to the recent real estate frenzy in other major cities. Here are the major developments that will dazzle Miamians in the coming years.
Canvas - Downtown
The glass facade of Canvas becomes your giant window to the city’s landscape just north of Downtown. Canvas Condos is in Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District and is a lavish residential project that towers 37 stories above the busy streets of Miami.
Canvas revealed that the wildly popular street artist Daniel “Krave” Fila would be responsible for the innovative artwork set to splash the corridors and common areas. Krave is a local graffiti artist best known for his signature character; “The Fresh Monkey”. The artistic appointment will be comprised of 83 original murals and 162 framed prints.
Canvas’ amenities will include pool decks to make the most of a sunrise or sunset. There will also be an outdoor/indoor yoga area, a state-of-the-art gym, racquetball court, and spa and sauna. Residences will range from 620 to 1,110 square feet.
One Thousand Museum
Every week, a freighter leaves Dubai packed with unique structural pieces bound for One Thousand Museum in Miami. One Thousand Museum is one of the last designs from the late luminary, architect Zaha Hadid.
These shipments from across the globe are lightweight concrete structures reinforced with glass fiber. Together these form the skeleton that extends along the structure’s exterior, like an exoskeleton. The ‘bones’ of the construction requires the sophisticated precision of a neurosurgeon -- only hundreds of feet above the ground.
This assertive endeavor rises above Miami, with its ultimate height planned to reach 700 feet above sea level. The development is looking to transform high-rises in the city with a futuristic feel and unique design.
Paramount Miami Residences
Miami Worldcenter is the second largest urban development in the U.S. The Paramount Miami Residences sits atop Worldcenter’s exclusive mall. Paramount Miami Residences promises to be the quintessential residential gem in Downtown.
The amenities will be nearly endless when Paramount Miami Residences opens. The exemplary offerings include a spa, fitness center, soccer field, tennis courts, an indoor basketball court, a yoga studio, boxing gym, jogging path, golf simulator, and a lounge dedicated to chilling out after a workout.
Paraiso Bay
The Paraiso Bay complex offers four towers of extraordinary residences, a beach club, a new Michael Schwartz restaurant, and townhomes. It is expected to be completed next year. Notable buyers include tennis champ Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, NBA star Manu Ginobili, and Alex Rodriquez.
Arquitectonica
The 54-story tower has 319 units with prices upwards of over $4 million. The project is Arquitectonica-designed and will be finished in intricate surface patterns. The firm is famous for a signature style that promotes a dramatic, expressive, high-tech modernism. Other ambitious projects of theirs include the $700 million Brickell CitiCentre project and the American Airlines Arena near the Port of Miami.
Extraordinary amenities include an outdoor spa, steam/sauna rooms, a heated pool, bowling, a children's pool with a water playground, putting green, golf simulator, wine cellar, tennis courts, and cigar lounge.
