Several more luxury condos have been listed for sale in Chicago’s Gold Coast, Loop, and River North neighborhoods. Prices of the for-sale units range from several hundred thousand dollars to north of $1 million.

Last week, the Chicago Tribune reported that professional golfer Jeff Sluman and his wife Linda listed their River North tower condo for $1.6 million. The couple bought the 2,500-square-foot condo for $1.5 million in 2016. The unit features two en-suite bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and a view of the Loop. Sluman and his wife are selling the condo because they want to find a smaller place, according to the report.

Moving over to the Gold Coast, an 800-square-foot condo in the Astor Tower has been listed for $285,000, according to Curbed Chicago. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit last sold in 2014 for $207,000. Astor Tower was designed by Bertrand Goldberg, the same architect behind the Marina City Towers known for their corn cob style. Astor Tower was built in 1960, but the for-sale unit has undergone a number of recent renovations.

Another Gold Coast residence is up for sale at 100 E. Walton St. The 2,500-square-foot duplex has two floors, two bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and a view of Lake Michigan, according to Curbed Chicago. The penthouse unit was first listed in January for $649,000, but the price has gone up to $709,000.

In addition to these units, a number of new condos have hit the market. Sales on condos in the 74-story 1000 South Michigan Ave. condo building — named 1000M — have begun, according to Chicago Magazine. The Loop building, designed by Helmut Jahn, will feature 74 stories and 323 units. The building is expected to break ground next year, and the move-in date will be a few years later. A 900-square-foot, one-bedroom condo will cost approximately $570,000. If buyers are interested in a penthouse, they can expect to pay about $8.5 million.

The view of Grant Park is one of the major selling points of 1000M. “The views of 1000M are protected for life. There’s nothing that can pop up and block the views,” said sales director John Goldsworthy in the report.

These for-sale units are hitting the market at a time when luxury condos are doing well in Chicago. Last year ended on a high note with the record-breaking, $58.5 million purchase of the top four floors of the Gold Coast No. 9 Walton condo building. At the beginning of this year, a group of buyers bought the 21st floor of the same condo building for $12 million. A penthouse in the River North Trump International Hotel and Tower went under contract for an undisclosed price — the unit was listed for $9.95 million.
