Plans for Del Amo Neighborhood Park in Carson Move Forward
The landscape architecture and green infrastructure firm MIG has partnered with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust to develop Del Amo Neighborhood Park. Per Urbanize, documents were filed with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for approval. The project is located at the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard in Carson.
The development will be funded approximately $10 million from a number of sources including LA County Park, the State Coastal Conservancy, Proposition A, and previous property owner Shell Oil Company.
According to the hefty 1,150-page proposal, plans for the 8.5-acre site include community features such as grassy public areas, two futsal courts, a picnic area, a basketball court, a baseball field, a plaza, a walking path, and parking lot.
Soil resurfacing has already begun on the planned area.
