Recently, residents got a look at a proposed 33-story residential tower planned for the city, Evanston Now reports. Surpassing the 22-story Chase Bank tower that is currently Evanston’s tallest building, the planned tower would include 318 housing units, 179 parking spots, and roughly 6,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

The project is poised to add 770 construction jobs and 27-31 permanent jobs as well as produce $750,000 in additional annual real estate tax. However, some neighbors are concerned about the “out of scale” project and traffic and “horrendous wind problems” the building could create.
