The Best Neighborhoods to Find Food Trucks in Dallas-Fort Worth
Dallas is a city that loves to dine out. But finding great places to eat is no longer confined to brick-and-mortar restaurants. While North Texas loves its chain restaurants like Chili’s and Pizza Hut, the area also supports lots of independent eateries. You can’t get much more independent than the food truck concept, which allows creativity to flourish. Like most big cities, there’s a great food truck scene in Dallas and Fort Worth. Here’s where to find it.
Lower Greenville - Texas Truck Yard
North Texas’ original food truck spot has been a Lower Greenville fixture since 2012. It’s a fun, rustic place to relax and get a delicious bite to eat. Even better, it’s dog-friendly, which adds to the laid-back vibe. Texas Truck Yard is best known for cheesesteaks and a great selection of strong mixed drinks on tap. They have live music on weekends and you’ll always find the patio packed.
Downtown Dallas - Klyde Warren Park
Klyde Warren Park is easily one of the best spots in Downtown Dallas for people-watching and hanging out, hosting yoga classes, live music, and play spaces for kids and pets. It’s also a place where you can choose from a rotating variety of food trucks, like Steel City Pops. There may not be a lot of shade here, but there’s a lot to love about this incredibly clean and well-maintained place. Klyde Warren Park is trying hard to become the city’s central public gathering space.
Plano - Hub Streat
Even though Plano has a lot of restaurants as well as Legacy Hall, a new food hall with multiple vendors in Legacy West, the city also has its own food truck area. Located at the intersection of 14th Street and L Avenue, Hub Streat is both a food truck park and an entertainment complex. Grab a snack or a cool drink from the beer garden and enjoy the arcade area. Dogs and children are welcome, although locals say the entertainment options here for young kids are lacking.
Frisco - Frisco Rail Yard
Head up to Frisco for a totally different experience. The Frisco Rail Yard aims to be a little different than your average food truck park. Dogs aren’t allowed to hang out in the park and while children are welcome during the day, it becomes an adults-only crowd after 9 p.m. on the weekends. The food trucks have more gourmet fare and there’s a full-service bar. It combines the hip food truck park concept with a bit more sophistication.
Arlington Heights - Fort Worth Food Park
The first food truck park in Fort Worth, Fort Worth Food Park in the Arlington Heights neighborhood may not be easy to find on your first visit. Located in an industrial complex behind some buildings, you have to watch for tow-free parking zones and look for the food trucks. But once you find them, it’s like stepping into an oasis. There are more varieties of cuisines offered here than at your average food truck park. You’ll be charmed by the lights strung up around the courtyard, and there are enough fun games like cornhole to make this more than just a place to eat.
Fort Worth Westcliff - Clearfork Food Truck Park
The perennially cool Westcliff neighborhood of Fort Worth near TCU has been getting a lot of new development lately. The Shops at Clearfork is an upscale shopping center with lots of luxury retailers. But the area also has its own trendy and fun take on the food truck concept with the Clearfork Food Truck Park. This park is just starting to get established, so there are only a few food trucks here. The location makes it a great place to stop for a quick meal or something to drink while you’re enjoying the Trinity Trails.
Denton - Austin St. Truck Stop
More than just a college town, Denton is one of the liveliest places in the Metroplex. Not surprisingly, Denton has its own contribution to the food park scene. You’ll find it close to Denton Square, offering an opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the food trucks that have catered to the active bar scene for several years. From the Pickled Carrot to Big Knife Tacos, you’ll find a variety of cuisines to satisfy every craving.
