These Chicago Neighborhoods Have the Most Restaurants With Outdoor Seating
The sun is setting later and you can put away your parka (on some days), signaling that Chicago’s (relatively wussy) winter is nearly over. With roof deck and outdoor bar/restaurant season nearly upon us, DNAInfo did the important work of mapping restaurants and bars in Chicago with sidewalk cafe permits.
Which neighborhoods have the highest number of places to drink and dine al fresco?
- Near North Side
- River North
- Streeterville—Boasts the highest amount of permits, with 90 establishments there permitted to serve on the sidewalk.
- Lakeview
- Boystown
- Wrigleyville—Has 60 outdoor dining spots and with the Park at Wrigley Field now open and hosting events, that part of town will be the spot to be outside this summer.
- West Town
- Wicker Park
- Ukrainian Village—Has the third-highest concentration with 40 permits.
DNAInfo does note that they will continue to update the map as permits are issued, so keep watching for more spots to spend the summer.
