Ultra-Luxury West Loop Condo Building Cleared for Construction
Hayden West Loop, a nine-story condominium building, is cleared for development at 1115 W. Washington Blvd, according to Curbed Chicago. The building takes over a parking lot and two-story office building that was once a part of Oprah’s Harpo Studios in the booming West Loop.
The ultra-luxury building is slated to house 28 multi-bedroom condos and two parking spots per unit. While the structure hasn’t even begun to take form, the building is already 40 percent sold, according to its website. Including four duplex penthouses and 24 three-bedroom residences, Hayden West Loop units range from 3,200 square feet to 5,000 square feet. Prices start at $1.8 million for three-bedroom units and $3.85 million for penthouses.
The units in Hayden feature window walls and folding nana-walls, which encourage open-air living spaces. Each unit is equipped with smart home controls, private outdoor spaces, a gas fireplace, 10-foot ceilings, and recessed LED lighting. The building follows Energy Star guidelines and will have a green roof.
The kitchens come with Wolf appliances and Bentwood cabinetry, as well as a 60-inch wide combination refrigerator, freezer, and wine cooler. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower, soaking tub, and heated floors for the cold Chicago winters.
The building’s resident amenities include secure storage for each unit, power hook-ups for electric vehicles, bike storage, a dog wash station, indoor heated parking, and secure elevator access to each home.
Designed by Booth Hansen Architects, Hayden West Loop is intended to mix the industrial history of the neighborhood with its modern trendiness. It’s one of several new luxury buildings coming to the area: CA Washington, a six-story, 69-unit building, at 27 N. Aberdeen St. and 900 West, a 10-story, 22-unit building, at 900 W. Washington Ave. are among the newest developments.
