London architect James Whitaker has been tapped to design a rather unique-looking vacation home for a film producer and his wife in Joshua Tree. The couple currently owns 90 acres of property near the national park and wildlife campground, just three miles away from Los Angeles.

Based on recently released images for the project, the starfish-y designs are not only very funky but also one-of-a-kind. Real estate developers might want to consider incorporating more imaginative designs after checking out these renderings.

According to the architecture magazine Dezeen, the modern shipping container residence will sprawl to approximately 2,153 square feet. It will include features such as a living room, kitchen, dining area, along with three bedrooms (one in each vestibule). There will even be separate outdoor wooden deck and detached solar-paneled carport. From the renderings, the home’s exterior will be painted white with glass windows, which allows protection against the desert climate while providing natural lighting inside.

The fancy shipping container house will break desert ground sometime in 2018. Check out more of the angles inside and out here.
