Downtown and Jack London Square are the best neighborhoods where you can find Oakland’s thriving local art scene with various galleries and special exhibits. Some of the larger music venues within the city include Oracle Arena, Paramount Theater, and Fox Theater, which regularly rotate new and old artists. You can also find more intimate venues such as The Sound Room towards the northern side of the city.
Oakland Transportation
There are many different ways to get around the city of Oakland. The popular BART system offers several stops within East Bay and of course provides service to other main cities in the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Richmond, and Daly City. While BART is probably the most convenient form of transportation for residents and visitors, the city also offers a public bus system, a wide network of bike lanes, and is home to an international airport for long-distance travel.
