Around Chantilly
Those who work in Uptown will want to live closer to the western edge of Chantilly for a shorter commute. A bus route on 7th Street shuttles passengers to the city center as well as Central Piedmont Community College. The neighborhood's green spaces, Chantilly Park and the Chantilly Montessori School Fields, are situated near the eastern border.
Just west of Chantilly on 7th Street, Bang Bang Burgers is a popular place known for their house-made toppings and artisanal burgers served at the counter. Lupie's Café, just south of the neighborhood, serves a variety of American comfort food along with delicious coffee. Residents of Chantilly are also in a great spot to enjoy the many restaurants based around Central Avenue to the north. Midwood Smokehouse's famous BBQ can be had in this part of town as well as Diamond Restaurant's southern classics.
At a comfortable distance from Uptown, Chantilly is comprised of spacious yards, roomy homes, and lofty trees. Chantilly grew rapidly just after World War II and many homes were built with the suburban sensibility of this time. Many have been renovated since, however, lending each home a unique character. On the south end of the community, Chantilly Park offers plenty of green space for people to enjoy. Residents stay active throughout the community, running and biking under the shade of oak trees.
Not much nightlife is found within the borders of this quiet neighborhood and residents often enjoy easy-going nights at home. Just north of the community, however, a thriving entertainment district contains a variety of bars and breweries at the ready when you're looking to go out. Sample the bourbon along with some wings on Whiskey Warehouse's panoramic rooftop bar. Later on, head to Soul Gastrolounge to groove along with expert house DJs.
Some residents will get up early to take advantage of the cooler part of the day at Chantilly Park. Later on, they might explore the book stores, thrift shops, and more that can be found in Plaza Midwood or Elizabeth. With so many Chantilly homes sporting beautiful backyards and porches, many people will cap off their Sunday with a meal hot off the grill.
