About Northeast Washington
Northeast Washington DC, commonly referred to as Northeast DC, encompasses the neighborhoods north of East Capitol Street and east of North Capitol Street. Northeast DC is mostly residential, but the southwest corner is home to DC’s Capitol Hill, Union Station, and the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, and the expansive National Arboretum spans across a few of the area’s southern neighborhoods. Northeast DC is known for several up-and-coming neighborhoods, like NoMa, H Street, and Ivy City, that are home to festivals, markets, trendy bars and restaurants, and its proximity to the many museums, monuments, nightlife, and entertainment venues around the Downtown DC area give residents here access to all there is to do in the nation’s capital.
