Around Downtown Las Vegas
If rigid HOAs, uniformity, and tract housing is your vibe, downtown might not be the place for you. This area has everything from retro houses and bungalows to ranch estates and even tiny houses. Downtown has also recently seen a boom of condos, lofts, and urban high-rise living. West of I-15, some truly fabulous mansions offer big spenders the height of luxury.
Downtown has a lot to offer when it comes to food options. Whether you are craving authentic Mexican food, vegan delights, or a huge slab of prime rib, there are delicious choices available all within minutes of each other. This area also has some excellent options for those craving a specialty coffee, craft beer, or a one-of-a-kind creation from an expert mixologist.
Downtown is well known for embracing all things related to art and creativity. It's not uncommon to see murals on buildings, uniquely decorated houses on every block, and residents hosting art shows. This area is also popular with tourists looking to take a break from the high energy of The Strip and explore Vegas' roots.
There is never a dull moment in Downtown Las Vegas. The 18b Arts District has the infamous First Friday every week, and there are lots of other festivals in the area throughout the year including Life is Beautiful and Punk Rock Bowling. A multitude of fantastic bars and lounges in the Fremont East District and Container Park keep locals entertained. The highlight of downtown is the world-famous pedestrian mall known as the Fremont Street Experience, which features an LED canopy, a 12-story, casino-themed zip line, and lots of shopping.
Residents' lazy Sundays are filled with brunches, museums, thrifting, and antiquing. Local coffee shops are hotspots of the community where guests can spend the day drinking specialty cups of joe and catching up with friends. Catch a show at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts or a baseball game at Cashman Field for something out of the ordinary. For a really special day, take your sweetheart to a drive-thru wedding chapel to casually tie the knot or renew your vows.
What better transportation is there than walking? This neighborhood is very walkable and easy to navigate. It's also full of bike lanes and is extremely bike-friendly. When you need a lift within the neighborhood, the Downtown Loop shuttle service is free to all riders. Several RTC bus lines offer routes to the Strip or McCarran International Airport for a small fee. Greyhound buses are another option for a journeying out of town, and there is a station downtown on Bonneville Avenue.
