Around East Sacramento

One of the most historical neighborhoods in East Sacramento is referred to as the "Fab '40s." These homes are given this name because they were all built in the 1940s. This area is perfect for residents who love Victorian- and Spanish-style homes with tons of character and charm. Not a single home in the area looks like the other, giving it a very non-cookie-cutter vibe that is rare these days. If you are looking to be near nightlife, stick to the edge of East Sacramento that borders Midtown. You will be close to all the action and nightlife available there.

The culinary scene in East Sacramento is extremely diverse. In this area you can find everything from classic Italian food, Mexican food, breweries, bistros, bakeries, and even a couple of wineries. You can find an expensive restaurant to splurge for a romantic night out or grab a quick bite at a more casual restaurant

East Sacramento is a very friendly and welcoming area. The area is also pedestrian and bike friendly, so you may see more of this than in other areas. East Sacramento is also home to McKinley Park, a huge park that has a playground, duck pond, jogging, and biking paths, as well as many other amenities. As such, dog owners, joggers, and cyclists head to this area en masse and because parking can be challenging, many prefer to walk or bike rather than drive.

There is no such thing as a typical Friday night in East Sacramento. The area is rich with activities. On a Friday night, you can easily hit up any restaurant, pub, or bar in town. Or you can check out unique offerings that may occur on any given Friday night. Some of these include art walks, music in the park, and wine or beer tastings. Check with the city council to find out what fun and unique events may be occurring in the area.

For many in the area, a perfect Sunday in East Sacramento consists of a good meal followed by a day of outdoor activities. Hit up a bistro, bakery, or restaurant for an enjoyable breakfast before venturing to the park. Many also enjoy visiting attractions in other areas, such as Midtown, Downtown, or Land Park.
