I have been a parent in this school for many years and find the experience to be a very rewarding one. The administration for the last few years have been amazing and I could not imagine entrusting my children at any other school. As an active parent, I have met nearly every teacher in the school and cannot find a single negative thing to say about any of them. The Gifted and Magnet programs are amazing. The office staff are great. Overall excellent school!

My boys have been going to this school for about 8 months now, so I think that's a good amount of time to give the school a review. I've been very happy with everything at Perrine Elementary! Ms. Rivas, the principal, is a wonderful asset to the school. You can tell she is very involved. She has been present at all the school meetings and activities I have attended (Halloween, school dances, Christmas, testing meetings, pta, etc.) and she is directing traffic every day to make the school pick-up/drop-off area safer for students and parents. I also really appreciate her work to improve the school, especially with funding for the library renovation and new computer labs. I have had great experiences with the teachers and feel they have taught my kids a lot during this school year. Mrs. Merderos is a PHENOMENAL teacher for 5th grade reading!! Can't say enough good things about her. She is creative and encouraging in getting her students to love reading! Mr. Alvarez (5th grade math) and Ms. Lima (2nd grade reading) are also awesome teachers that are very caring and responsive. Every school has ups and downs, but I have been very impressed that any problems are being addressed quickly. Another plus at this school is that the kids have PE every day. I think it's great that they are emphasizing good health and also letting students get their energy out in a constructive way so they can focus better when they are in the classroom. My kids have Coach Crogan for PE and I'm impressed that they play a new game or practice a new sport every week. Also, there is always fun instruments to play in music. My 5th grader was so excited that Dr. L (the music teacher) has been able to order new instruments for them to learn this year, like ukuleles! Overall, we are really happy that we get to be a part of this great school!

Hidden gem in Palmetto Bay! Great teachers that truly care about their students and push their students academically to strive for their best while embracing the arts! The new principal genuinely loves children, is very approachable, and cares about her school! I'm very blessed to have my child be a part of this school!!

Since the beginning of this school year I have noticed a huge change! We have 2 new state of the arts Computer Labs! The administration has implemented many new family oriented activities such as Movie Nights and Spirit Week! The students are exposed to rigorous academics due to the highly experienced teachers! Perrine is the place to be!
