Madison County High School

This school is amazing! The teachers are respectful (When you are respectful back) and all of the students are amazing! When there are fights, they are stopped by on-campus police officers. No bullying at all. This school is amazing, check it out!

I graduated from this school several years ago. My experiences at MCHS were overwhelmingly negative. Wild students would run the classrooms and bully the teachers at times in at least one of my classes each semester. Unfortunately, many teachers seemed to downright hate working at this school. Very few were exceptional. One word that could describe the shared sense of being at this school would have to be "despair." I had several mandatory classes in mobile units that sat in front of a sewage treatment pond. The area outside of the cafeteria where you could eat was also near the sewage pond. I've had upper level employees at the school recommend that I fail a class instead of seek extra help. The list goes on. I write this hope that you would seriously consider other options available in the area for your student, such as Athens Christian or Athens Academy. I was offered this once and turned it down, which was probably one of the biggest regrets of my life. While the outlook of my college career suggests that I'm going to graduate with magna cum laude honors, I still feel as though I would have been more prepared for college if I attended a high school I truly enjoyed.
