The airport is only five minutes away from East Point by train, and downtown is only about 10 minutes away by train.

High school students typically attend Tri-Cities High School or Westlake High School, and Point University, a private liberal arts university, has a campus in East Point. Other higher education options around downtown Atlanta, like Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, are easily accessible from East Point.
