Dames Ferry Elementary School

Dames Ferry is an absolutely wonderful school. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There are many events throughout the school year that invite families into the school creating a nice sense of community. We have been there 7 years total so far with our children and have had wonderful teachers every year, who go above and beyond to challenge and engage with our kids. As a former teacher, I know what to look for in a school and Dames Ferry has it all.

They really do a great job at DFE. We have been there 7 years total with our kids. The staff really connects with the kids and they care about them. It makes me feel good to drop my children off knowing they will be looked after and taught in a good environment. It does have a few issues as all schools do but, all and all, a great place. Only gripe is I wish the principal would quit moving his staff around. If a teacher is doing a good job teaching K or 1 or 2... then why move them to another grade?

The teachers keep parents well informed and take a genuine interest in making your child succeed>
