About Greater East End
The Greater East End District stretches east from Houston’s downtown to the East Loop Freeway and includes some smaller, well-known neighborhoods such as Magnolia Park, Eastwood, and the Second Ward. The area has a rich history spanning booms and busts, but in recent decades it has enjoyed a modest but continuing revitalization.
Most homes were built between 1930 and 1950 with some of the oldest homes built prior to 1930 in the historic Eastwood neighborhood immediately east of downtown. The majority of homes are single-family and one-story on small, tidy lots along tree-lined streets.
The home price range in the Greater East End is slightly below Houston’s average price. There have been some new construction developments in the last several years which, due to their close proximity to downtown, command higher than average prices for the East End.
