Green Valley Ranch enjoys some of the best parks and recreation facilities the city of Henderson offers. At the center of the community is the Henderson Pavilion, a wonderful open-air facility that has a packed calendar of events and performances. Next door to it is the unique Henderson Multigenerational Center. As its name implies, it was designed to provide facilities so people of all generations can not only have access to recreation, but also to create a community bond. It features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, top-notch exercise equipment, and a serious climbing wall. The modern Paseo Verde Library rounds out the campus. It features a coffee shop and a gorgeous glass-walled reading room. For those researching their family trees, there’s a genealogy staff there waiting to help. Henderson is served by the Clark County School District. Children living in Green Valley go to some of the county’s best schools. John Vanderburg Elementary, Neil Twitchell Elementary, and Bob Miller Middle School are within the community’s boundaries. Miller Middle School is noted for its science and tech programs and an emphasis on career preparation. The closest high school is Coronado High School.
There is always something to do in Green Valley Ranch. There are over a half-dozen parks within its boundaries that offer playgrounds, a splash park, and green open spaces. Sports enthusiasts have their choice of basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, some of which are lighted for evening play. Baseball fields also figure prominently. The Henderson Multigenerational Center schedules quite a few classes and fun activities for children, adults, and seniors. Residents do not have to go far for restaurants. North of Paseo Verde Parkway is Green Valley’s shopping and entertainment hub, anchored by the impressive Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino. There are quite a few upscale restaurants to choose from and cuisine selections include BBQ, Asian, seafood, and Italian. As far as entertainment, residents should check to see what the Pavilion has going on before looking elsewhere. Quite a few acts perform at the Pavilion and cover a wide range of music, dance, and Broadway musicals. Catching the newest movies is also easy as the resort has its own ten-theater movieplex. Day-to-day shopping is a breeze for Green Valley residents. There are several grocery stores within and just outside the community’s boundaries and they have plenty of retail shops and services next to them.
