Around Hollywood
Much of Hollywood is located south of the eponymous boulevard, and the farther you move away from the nightclubs, the quieter the community becomes. While ultra-modern condominium complexes filled with amenities and in-house gyms are on Hollywood Boulevard, quainter and quieter residences begin to appear the closer you go to Santa Monica Boulevard. If wild, late nights are what you're after, Hollywood Boulevard or the Sunset Strip are ideal.
While Hollywood may be known for its late-night club scene, there are no shortage of places to grab a bite to eat. Many of the bars are great places to catch a game and eat a burger, while some of the best taco shops in Los Angeles reside in and around Hollywood Boulevard. For those wanting to enjoy more upscale dining options, a variety of establishments exist in the four star hotels in and around the strip.
Since Hollywood is famous (and infamous) worldwide, it is a major tourist destination. There are heavy crowds of tourists at all hours of the day visiting the local landmarks. The farther you move away from the major hubs of tourism, the quieter it becomes. The chance of spotting celebrities is a major draw and it's not unusual for movie premiers to close down Hollywood Boulevard in order to roll out the literal red carpet. In addition, there are great venues for people watching and catching the hottest up-and-coming bands.
Head to Hollywood Boulevard or the Sunset Strip for one of the numerous bars and nightclubs. Some of the biggest DJs in the world pass through this part of Los Angeles for regular performances. If catching a movie sounds appealing, Arclight is the premier theatre chain in L.A. and it even has a full bar. The neighborhood is also where the famous Hollywood Bowl resides, a venue that regularly hosts a summer concert series, making for a perfect for date night.
If the previous night wasn't too late, wake up early and go for a jog through Runyon Canyon. Or head to one of Hollywood's many outdoor brunch spots for some mid-day mimosas. Several farmers markets are also a great place to pick up some fresh produce.
