Oak Park & River Forest High School

OPRF is a great school and has a lot to offer. It's a huge student population for sure, but the teachers are really good. My son has special needs and they were so attentive to his needs. They really cared. I highly recommend this high school.

My experieces at OPRF were phenomonal. My kids and their diverse group of friends were served well here.

Really I can't imagine how this school gets a 10! Years later and watching a little of the documentary about it, and all the terrible experiences come rushing back. This school works for an outgoing, high achieving kid only, if something happens to that kid, forget, they will be shuffled into the ignored majority.

I have 2 sons who have gone to OPRFHS, one a junior and one graduated in 2014. It has caring teachers, good academic programs and good counselors It has almost any kind of sport or other extracurricular activity you could want.The big problem I feel is too much political correctness. Many courses go off on politically correct tangents with too little emphasis on the classics, for example. There often is little tolerance for points of view other than the politically correct one.Overall a good place, my kids got a good college prep education.
