Around Lakeside Preserve
At the center of Lakeside Preserve is a stately clubhouse. This community center is ideal for parties and casual get-togethers with neighbors as it features a full kitchen and a bright common room as well as an upper level that can be reserved for private events. The clubhouse fronts the expansive pool area. There’s a large pool complete with lap lanes and maximum depth of five feet. Kids will be drawn to the second pool that features a two-story slide and is connected to a splash pad for maximum fun. There’s plenty of room for the grown-ups to sunbathe and socialize on the spacious patio surrounding the pools. In the northwest corner of the community are its basketball and tennis courts. They’re fenced in and lighted, so they’re ideal for getting in a game or match in the summer evenings when the temperature has cooled. Unique to Lakeside Preserve, anglers have their own fishing pond steps away from the sport courts. The Fulton County School District serves the area. The schools closest to Lakeside Preserve are Wolf Creek Elementary, Seaborn Lee Elementary, Sandtown Middle School, and Westlake High School.
Aside from all of the entertainment and dining venues along the I-285 corridor, there is a plethora of places to have fun in Lakeside Preserve’s immediate area. Young soccer players have the Georgia Soccer Park nearby where there are multiple leagues as well as the Atlanta Flying Disc Club. The Welcome All Park and Multipurpose Facility is also nearby and has a huge array of programs for all ages. Its indoor pool is open year-round and hosts classes, water aerobics, open swims, and meets featuring the South Fulton Swordfish, the local youth swim team. There’s also a youth basketball program, a club for seniors, and at least a dozen activities for adults including yoga, tennis, and salsa dancing. Wolf Creek Amphitheater is less than a 10-minute car ride from Lakeside Preserve. It’s schedule is packed with soul, hip-hop, and R&B concerts, though it manages to fit in a good mix of reggae and funk and the occasional comedy show as well. It’s next to the Wolf Creek Branch Library, a beautiful modern facility that overlooks the Wolf Creek Multi-Use Trail. The library, in addition to its regular duties, also offers early learning programs and activities for youth and teens and acts as the base camp for the Wolf Creek Walking Club.
