Around Land Park

The park is filled with beautiful picturesque homes and is made up of three neighborhoods: South Land Park, Little Pocket, and South Land Park Hills. South Land Park Hills is mainly a residential area with both single-family homes and condominium complexes. Land Park also hugs the Sacramento River and has large parks in the northern and southern portion of the neighborhood.

For a fabulous glass of wine you can stop by Taylor's Market where the staff knows all there is to know about every bottle on the shelf. The nearby Taylor's Restaurant is like having your family at your kitchen table. Another popular spot is Dad's Kitchen where a beer goes perfectly with a Sunday game. When the sweet tooth hits try Marie's Donuts or the popular Vic's Ice Cream Parlor.

Land Park prides itself in its vintage architecture, posh homes, and tree-lined streets. It is a close-knit community where residents know each other by name. Every June you will see events hosted in the park by neighborhood restaurants and area wineries and all year-round bikers, joggers, and dog walkers pass in the streets.

Check out the Tower Theater in Land Park. Built in 1938, it's a Sacramento landmark. The movie theater has modern-style seating and service but is a historic theater which gives the movie goer a unique experience. For great specials, ride over to the popular hotspot Riverside Clubhouse to enjoy a drink and good company or try out Bistro 33 where locals gather for a good time.

During the summer months, spread a blanket on the lawn at your favorite park and listen to jazz music or catch a production by local live theater performers. If it's an indoor day, the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts next to UC Davis is a sight to see as the museum is a piece of art in itself. Country Club Lanes is the spot to bowl in Sacramento and is open 24/7 for whenever the mood "strikes".
