Leisure Village

I have lived in Leisure Village for 6 years now. It definitely has a resort feel. When you live here and feel bored or lonely, just head down to the recreation center to run into some friends and/or participate in a variety of activities from bingo, cards, helping on a community jigsaw puzzle, doing a craft project, working out in the fitness room, line dancing or knitting. In addition, we are always having parties! In 2023 we have 17 events/parties scheduled including a Mardi Gras party, a biscuits and gravy breakfast, a 70's prom, a Kentucky Derby party, an Amazing Race, an arts and crafts/rummage sale/bake sale bazaar, etc. In addition, we have off site outings. Recently we traveled in our 14 person bus to a dress rehearsal of a local high school production of Chicago, followed by lunch at the Vine restaurant in Grayslake. This month we are volunteering at Feed My Starving Children. I really enjoy sitting with a hot cup of coffee and watching my driveway get shoveled while I stay warm inside. In the summer I enjoy our pool that our village maintains, not me. Oh, and who doesn't love having someone else mow grass, clean gutters and power wash the sidewalk while they have fun instead. Great place to retire.

The Leisure Village Fox Lake is the best kept secret in Lake County , Il. Friendly residents, well maintained homes and beautiful grounds with walking paths make every day a treasure. I am a retired real estate agent and when I discovered it I “had to have it”. What attracted me was the peaceful, full of mature trees environment with desired security, a safe feeling. It is a gated community. I love living here, it feels like being on vacation.

I'm proud to say I am 82, going on 70! Been living here for about 10 years now and really enjoy it. The people are friendly and are eager to lend a hand. I borrowed some tools from a neighbor the other day and we've been watching out for each other in the harsh winter we just got through. Finally, spring has arrived! Leisure Village is an older neighborhood but so am I, it's the perfect fit!
