Around Meridiana
Meridiana is comprised of three sections, each with its own well-appointed community hub. The first hub, Oasis Village, is a spectacular introduction to Meridiana for residents and their guests. Designed to look like an island when approaching from the main road, the complex is highlighted by its airy, modern clubhouse called the Conservatory. It's a short walk to one of three amazing pools. The Lap Pool is for serious swimmers. The spacious family pool is great for cooling off, sunbathing, and socializing under the cabanas. The Splash Pad, for younger children, is kitted out with a great array of slides, dump buckets, and sprinklers. Right next to the Lap Pool is the state-of-the-art fitness center. Parents exercise among a full range of equipment while their kids play with their friends in the playroom next door. Game night has been taken outdoors in the game area, where there are foosball and ping-pong tables as well as bean bag toss courts. If it's too hot to play during the day, it's lit up at night, making for some really fun competitions under the lights. Meridiana is served by the growing Alvin Independent School District. Meridiana Elementary School was built specifically for the community within its boundaries. Manvel Junior High and Manvel High are in the nearby town of Manvel.
Meridiana's lifestyle coordinator keeps the events calendar filled with fun things to do all year round. Oasis Village and the Conservatory are usually the sites for things like yoga sessions, Mommy & Me events, and wine & painting classes. The outdoor amphitheater hosts live music acts, barbecues, and movie nights presented with Meridiana's mobile high-tech projection equipment. Holidays are also celebrated. Moms and dads are spoiled at their own events on Mother's and Father's Days. The Easter Bunny and Santa make their appearance during their respective holidays, and Halloween has a fun trick-or-treat event complete with a costume contest. Kids are able to find a lot to do when there isn't a planned event. Meridiana's playgrounds are beyond what one might think. They are designed not only for physical play but also to inspire learning about astronomy, gravity, and wildlife conservation. There are basketball courts, baseball fields, and acres of tree-lined green spaces ready for pick-up games and open play. Adults enjoy getting their morning jogs or evening strolls along the community trail.
