Around New Territory
The community's 18,000-square-foot clubhouse, aptly named The Club, is the centerpiece of New Territory's wonderful amenities. It's large enough to house a full-sized gymnasium, as well as fitness, locker, and meeting rooms. The large swimming pool and cabanas are surrounded by beautiful landscaping, making it a great place to cool off and relax. It's also home to a staffed tennis pro shop and eight tennis courts just steps away. Spread throughout New Territory are three more recreation centers, each with their own pools, and several wooded pocket parks with playgrounds. There's also the New Territory Sports Complex, which has several baseball and soccer fields, along with a snack bar and playground. Paved walking trails casually wind through the parks and greenbelts connecting the parks with all of New Territory's neighborhoods. Schools in the area include Brazos Bend Elementary, Walker Station Elementary, Sartartia Middle School, and Travis High School. All are part of the Fort Bend Independent School District, which has received state and national awards over the last several years.
The New Territory Parks and Recreation team does a fantastic job of scheduling a wide range of activities and events. The Sports Complex is home to baseball, little league, and family soccer nights, where residents of all ages can come out and work on their skills. With so many pools in the community, it's no surprise there's a youth swim team, too, nicknamed the Tarpons. At the Club, residents can take tennis lessons with professional instructors, and kids can sign up for the youth basketball league. There's plenty of things to do outside of athletics, as well. A senior group called the Keenagers is active with luncheons and day-trips. Kids' activities include dance instruction, tutoring, and a STEM club, among many more. There are a number of events held at the Club and the Sports Complex throughout the year, such as holiday festivals, movie nights and auto shows, ensuring something for everyone at New Territory.
