Northline is a working-class neighborhood with older subdivisions. There are many affordable single-family homes along Interstate 45 and Airline Drive. Northline also has multiple vacant lots for sale, especially along East Crosstimbers Street.

This neighborhood has a highly eclectic culinary scene, but is locally known for its many taco and Salvadoran restaurants. Locals also enjoy playing at the neighborhood bingo hall on Airline Drive. Downtown Houston is just a short drive down Interstate 45 South, where many weekly cultural and sports events take place.

Locals in this laid back neighborhood enjoy backyard BBQs, catching a Texans game at a local pub, or simply having lunch at one of the many Mexican restaurants along Airline Drive. Joggers, dog walkers, and families also enjoy spending the afternoon at Melrose Park on Canino Road, which has a baseball field and playgrounds.
