This school is well secure and Students have access to tons of ap classes. Hallways are clean. Hardley any rodents. Security and staff walk the hallways all the time to secure our safety and were in class. Teachers are really nice and help students to pursue there goals. Princible is Awesome. Students need to develop skills such ad annotations, discussion and participation.
Ok., this was my kid's first week at Newtown H.S., and to be honest I was a bit skeptical because of all the false rumors. After going around the hallways I found that this school is secure, clean and well structured. Stair cases and exits are well placed, security staff walk the hallways at all times. About the programs: There're a LOT of choices for the students! From what I got to see, it seems ARTS is their strong suit., very talented students and teachers. Now, what I was really surprised with, was with the teachers and staff...they are just amazing!Caring, diligent, professional...just great!!Ms. Nieves: Very professional and direct! Love it! (Thanks for getting my kids their lunch on the first day!)Ms. "D" (Ana): I'm so grateful for your advises. You're a wonderful human being! Gracias!Ms. Altomarino: So, so kind! Thank you so much for your counsil.Ms. Thompson: Thank you!Ms. Aguancha (A.K.A. Superwoman): I have never seen a person with such skills! She recieved everyone at any time! Remembered names, last names, faces, cases, issues...and with such detail...my God! Ms. Aguancha, eres una persona simplemente extraordinaria!I met a few other great, great people from Newtown's staff., even got to meet Mr. Ficalora outside the school on his way back from the deli., very nice man. Looks very "human"...you can tell he really cares! Also met a super nice teacher or counselor (Sorry, I forgot her last name)...all I know for sure is that she loves Cats.Keep it up Newtown! You're on your way to be the #1 school in NY.Truly yours...a happy father!Josue Urena
I was a new immigrant when I was in this school. I graduated as one of top 20 of the year. Yet, I have to say this school is average at best. They don't care about students who behave, they don't have much advanced classes.
I attended this school in 2013 and had so much fun. The school deserves to get this money.
