Oak Forest

Oak Forest is a neighborhood in Houston, Texas. Around ten miles northwest of Downtown Houston, Oak Forest is a sprawling community with a variety of single-family homes for homebuyers to choose from. Located near Highway 290 and the 610 Loop, Oak Forest residents are a short drive away from shopping, dining, and entertainment options that Houston has to offer. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is just six miles south of the community. While residents of Oak Forest rely on vehicles for most of their transportation needs, Houston’s Metro public transit system offers bus routes and rail lines for getting around the city, and Houston Hobby Airport is approximately 20 miles away from the heart of the community. Oak Forest is served by the Houston Independent School District. Mangum Elementary School, Oak Forest Elementary School, and Frank Black Middle School are all within the boundaries of the community itself, while Scarborough High School is less than two miles away.
