River Plantation

Been a resident over 18 yrs, yes home did flood in 94 and 2017 but both were extreme events and had insurance. Some of my favorite parts about living here are there's hardly any crime, we feel safe for wife and kids, pretty winding streets, homes are all large and unique, lots are large approx 1/4 acre +/-, taxes and assoc and MUD dunes are lower than just about any other comparable neighborhood, neighbors and Assoc pull together awesomely in adversity, and easy access to I45. Where else can you find large homes on large lots for these prices... yes there are exceptions and a few parts of neighborhood still recovering from last flood and low elevation... but vast majority of homes are worth considering. The golf course is not what it once was but pool and tennis courts, basketball courts and frisbee golf are nice.

River Plantation is currently in a law suit (2018). It is at the appeals court level. One of the golf courses (Charleston) has been turned into weeds. We don't know what will happen with the other two. RP may or may not see the development of patio homes where the course(s) are. Further, hurricane Harvey flooded a lot of the homes. Be very careful about where you choose to live should you come into this neighborhood.
